My back ordered openSPOT finally arrived today. I have not had a chance to test it out on DMR or C4FM yet, but it appears to work just fine on D-STAR. There was a concerned about the host file updates not including the correct information to get to some the XRF (XLX) reflectors, but I was able to talk to John-K6KD on XRF002A, XRF310A and XRF555A and the Dashboards indicated that everything was working correctly. I later connected to XLX212A as DCS212A, worked great. The "guess" is that openSPOT changed how they were updating the host files after concerns were posted on their support forum, but we'll never know... Bottom line is that openSPOT appears to work well and I'll check into this Thursday night DRT forum using it...

I'm pretty sure they did make a change to fix the issue because I previously saw problems, consistent with what we discussed.

I did a firmware update on my openSPOT yesterday and right off the bat some of the XRF reflectors would not work. I checked using my DVMEGA hotspot and all was okay so I am assuming that when the created the latest firmware update they screwed up the changes they had made earlier to how they updated their host files.
I have a trouble report into them them now... openSPOT may be great for DMR, Fusion and other modes, but it seems to lack in D-STAR operation. Hopefully they'll get it figured out sometime soon...

Dan - Can you advise if you were able to link to each of the constellation reflectors - 002, 555, 310, 212. That could shed some light on the issue - specifically if the host file problems we previously discussed came back.

I just checked openSPOT's support forum, this is what they said: "The server database is not related to the firmware version. I've updated the database now to contain the correct host for that server. Please refresh the web interface and it will show the correct address for XRF310."
I checked and it is now working...
