Just listening to the Roundtable podcast, and there was a discussion about the availability of the ZUMSpot. Yes, there have been long wait times due to the explosion of demand which has taxed the production capacity of an independent hardware manufacturer. They are working very hard to meet the demand. All I can suggest is that people be patient. Distribution is now completely through HRO.
I would strongly discourage anyone from buying a "Chinaspot". You will find it difficult to get support if it doesn't work.

Commenting on my own comment. As Bob mentioned on the net, if you don’t need the small form factor of the ZUMSpot, grab a DVMega.

Another option besides the ZUMspot board is the MMDVM_HS_Hat that has been available from DB9MAT @db9mat on twitter and DF2ET, @flo_0_ on Twitter. These are legitimate boards and ARE NOT knockoffs. Looks like they are wrapping on their 5th round of producing the boards, but have stated there will be a Kickstarter campaign in the future to produce one more large batch of boards. As I understand it, these boards are essentially functionally equivalent to the ZUMspot, but run a different firmware. I know of hams stateside who have these boards and are very satisfied with them. Here is a link to the Tweet regarding the Kickstarter: MMDVM_HS_HAT
