Just to clarify: The Logitech bluetooth mouse M557 was used for development and testing. (Most of the wireless mice are advertised with "2.4GHz wireless connectivity" or "USB connectivity" which requires a USB port on the computer for the USB adapter for the mouse. The WinBook has only a single USB port which is already used for the DV Dongle or ThumbDV.) Bob/W6KD and I have used the M557 mouse with the software pretty extensively so we are confident it will work. The voice control part has only been used by me, so any testing of that would be appreciated.
So the point is, if you go out and buy this mouse specifically for this, you can be pretty confident it will work. Also, places like Best Buy have a 15-day return policy, so you are not jeopardizing more than your convenience. Also if you choose not to get the mouse, testing for the voice control alone would be fine.
Thanks,
John K6KD

If you were not on the Round Table and were wondering what this is about:
Remote PTT Control for WinDV is a framework to provide a capability to switch between transmit and receive on WinDV (aka DV Node) running on a Windows PC (and specifically the WinBook tablets) using a wireless mouse and/or voice control. It is being provided by Bob/W6KD and John/K6KD.
The framework is designed to facilitate customization to suit individual preferences. This is a working prototype; the macro source code is provided so the user can modify or extend the functionality in accordance with his desires and ability. It is assumed users are familiar with the PC Windows environment.
The voice control feature is optional. Its effectiveness is dependent on the clarity of spoken commands, the microphone, and the environment. The spoken commands to switch between transmit and receive can be changed based on preferences or to improve their understanding.
