I am not sure how I did it but I have been blocked from using D-Star. I recently got a DVAP and initially had success using it on a variety of reflectors. By the end of the first week I was blocked. AA4RC, Robin Cutshaw, told me I "may" have caused interference or I might have been testing software or I had a poor signal. During the few QSOs I had I received excellent signal reports and I certainly did not interfere with others. The only software I used was the version recommended on the DVAP website. Can anyone tell me how to get this block lifted?

After many e-mail sessions with the "powers of d-star" I have been unblocked on the REF system. Lesson learned: stay off the REF system. Thanks to you all for your input and advice. KC7HVB

I may be mistaken, but with a DVAP, aren't you generally able to only connect to various reflectors?
You got the message from the 'powers that be' but, in general, any activity you wouldn't do on your local favorite FM 2-meter repeater, where everyone knoes your name, you shouldn't do on some else's reflector. Always remember that reflector are someone else's property, and what goes out on a reflector is also probably being transmitted over the air, somewhere, so you possibly risk THEIR license, as well as your ow, should you be transmitting data that you shouldn't.

The "powers that be" in this case refers to US Trust which regulates activity on legacy REF reflectors. It has no bearing on open source reflectors. Also, many stations have been banned from the legacy REF reflectors for temporary problems. In many cases the banning is overly harsh. John K6KD
