w6oso: For what it's worth, Icom Inc will be showing a prototype of a new VHF/UHF/1.2GHz transceiver called the IC-9700 at the Tokyo Hamfair, taking place on September 2nd and 3rd.
w6oso: From the limited information provided by ICOM, this will be a 3 band radio covering 2m and 70cm with the addition of 1.2 GHz. The best information to-date on the new radio can be found at DX Engineering (https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/rsv-ic-9700).
w6oso: I am also providing a You Tube Video link on the IC9700. Enjoy... www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL9t1gewTOU
K6KD: openSPOT2 www.sharkrf.com/products/openspot2/ Release date: autumn 2018. Exact date and price will be announced on sharkrf.com / Twitter / Facebook. Posted questions on their forum about ethernet option and WiFi bands.
K6KD: Questions I posted here forum.sharkrf.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2094&p=11320
JoeS: I would like to suggest a "Law Abiding Citizens Net" dealing with law enforcement, first responders, 2nd amendment, concealed carry, traveling across state lines - all kinds of legal issues. Maybe Saturday night would be a good time.
VE7LEE: I am heading over to Japan next Oct. 31 2019. But the ham fair would be over by them.
K7REX-Dan: I strongly oppose the "Law Abiding Citizens Net" as proposed. That has all the elements of going political which is not a good idea for ham radio 8 minutes ago x
VE7LEE: I would listen to Law Abiding Net, ex military, trained in Canada, USA and Israel,
VE7LEE: now working as a level 3 para medic on the waterfront of Vancouver
VE7LEE: I put people back together again.
VE7LEE: One time we and the gun control issue on the TGIF net on C4FM and DMR. That night the net ran 4 hours talking about their positions about hand gun. After the Florida shooting.
VE7LEE: I personally fought for free speech and two of my fellow soldiers died so that we could have free speech. Not hate speech, but free speech.
K6KD: Agree VE7LEE - Political correctness run amok takes away free speech
VE7LEE: Oh yeah, DSTAR food net on Monday REF026A 17:30 PM PDT
W6KD: I always though "Humpty Dumpty Medical Response" would be a great name for a private Ambulance company ;-)
wb5eku:
VE7LEE: currently discussing the Law Abiding Net on an analog FM net in Vancouver now.
N6HKH: VE7LEE: Any consensus in Vancouver?
VE7LEE: good night
VE7LEE: no consensus or interest
VE7LEE: more interested in the winter field day net and camping in the snow.
