g4klx: Started work on supporting the Icom and Kenwood fast data modes. Initial assessment is that they're not compatible with each other. It looks like the Kenwood implementation is the most sane and easiest to detect.
HamRadioTech: We want Pi-star to support DV4mini and ThumbDV.
g4klx: DV4mini isn't going to happen, sorry.
g4klx: The fast data support has been added and tested. The change is in MMDVM Host, an unmodified ircDDB Gateway should be OK to pass it, but I'll be making a change to it to ensure that it doesn't corrupt the data. With the standard gateway, if the fast data...
g4klx: looks like DTMF it'll be processed, which probably won't cause too many issues in itself, but it will be replaced with silence and that would disrupt the data transfer. The modified gateway should be available soon (in days).
ke0lmx: D-STAR one launches on 12/25/2018. More information at www.d-star.one/?fbclid=IwAR1A0dBZFddU2uQoWP6D-71qnMs0BJ8eVaUkuvoFzTriUQA0VrvKF63pX40
g4klx: Es'Hailsat 2 is due to be launched tomorrow with P4A aboard. Exciting for us, but the US isn't covered, eastern parts of South America are though.
bh1cvg: This is a test

VE7LEE: Ted in Vancouver is at the keyboard, Yes what is fast data?
VE7LEE: I am using "fast data" or called Olivia on 6 and 144 meters. Is that fast data?
Blaine, K1QV: Found a bit more information on D-RATS folks are using the the fast data mode. Seems like it works a lot like packet and APRS. www.d-rats.com/download/doc/CommAcademy_D-RATS_KK7DS.pdf
Blaine, K1QV: Arrow makes the directional antenna that I used back in the day. They seem to have several to choose from depending on how many elements you want. www.arrowantennas.com/sub/arrowiiyagi.html
