k6jm: Last week we talked about ways to get a DV hotspot to access a hotel or ship's wifi. One solution is described here: d-star-roundtable.boards.net/thread/413/connect-configured-hotspot-wifi-network Apr 5, 2019

k6jm: Hear you on XRF555A but not on XRF002A
k6jm: Please try to relink XRF555A to XRF002A
KK6MYS: Jim, I can hear him on both on my end.
k6jm: Yes, all ok now.
k6fed: Mike and the Kings of Digital thanks for all your years of support and great information.
wb5eku: Certainly this was the best DV net! There won't be another one to come up to the standare Mike set for the DV Round Table.
wb5eku: Yes I'm here
k6jm: Question about how people monitor a DV reflector/TG/room -- I don't like to monitor real busy gathering places when I am doing projects in the shack -- distracting. But I like to be reachable when I am in the shack.
k6jm: One trick is to link to a quiet reflector or TG and tell friends about that. My DStar radio HT has a battery eliminator so is always on. My DMR HT is battery operated. So my DMR hotspot with modem drives a radio with fan.
K0OQL: I have learned alot listening to this net over the years thanks for all good times and late nights Mike! Joel K0OQL
k6jm: So my alert is when the radio's fan starts up, I know someone is on the TG I am monitoring, and I turn on the DMR HT. Kind of primitive, but it works. But do people have a better way to alert when there is activity on a reflector or TG? Maybe a tone?
wb5eku: Fred, thanks for the good words. Hope to hear you on the constellation frequently! 73
K6KD: KofD Notify groups.io/g/KingsOfDigital was set up to announce planned or ad hoc discussions separate from nets. That role might now be amplified.
K0OQL: Digital swap net Friday nights on wires x KC2RC Repeater fusion room 40821 9pm eastern 8pm central been trying to key in on net.
wb5eku: John, good idea
k6jm: One more mention -- while most of us now have low power (e.g. 10mw) DV hotspots, some still prefer more powerful home hotspots that have greater range. In addition to chinese knockoffs you can get the STM-32 DVM from RepeaterBuilder, and also...

k6jm: I feel like am stopping by the Cheers bar (where everybody knows your name) on the night it closes its doors for the last time. I really, really appreciate Mike's incredible work making this net one of the greatest nets ever. THANKS, Mike!
N6HKH: ALL: I truly appreciate your kind words. Your support has been an important part of this net.
n5wd: N5WD -> Good night, Gracie!
