AG6WK: Referencing this link www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=58151 which has Pi bootup issues info and definitive information on the Pi Power Supply related to previously discussed on the Round Table. See Power Supply Unit (PSU). 2 hours ago x
wa6jfk: ANKER products make some wonderful multi-port USB power supplies. 2 hours ago x
wa6jfk: The other item to consider is the actual cable, I have used more than one USB/PI cable that no matter what power supply was in use it would not power the pi/DVAP 2 hours ago x
wa6jfk: I hear lots of people talking "Power supplies" 10amp!!! But the USB interface is the key, you can have a 50amp PS and if your USB interface is SHIT then it's no good 2 hours ago x
Vk5ZEA: I rolled my own 5V power supply for my Portable D-Star HotSpot. I used a Cosel DC-DC converter that takes 8-40V (IIRC) and then outputs 5V at 1.6A. I put it in a die cast aluminium box with a PowerPole for input & two 2.1mm sockets for 5V out. 2 hours ago x

Vk5ZEA: The internet connection to the VK5REX D-Star repeater is still having trouble with congestion. about an hour ago x
Vk5ZEA: Found on Satoshi's web page "ID-RP2C New Firmware 1.6 Released (07 Oct. 2015)". Not sure what the new firmware will fix (if anything). about an hour ago x
AG6WK: Michael VK5ZEA great solution with the DC-DC converter having a wide input voltage. Is this mobile? What is the device in the top left of your picture? Looks like a CPU? Is that using 12V? about an hour ago * x
Vk5ZEA: AG6WK... not sure what device you are referring to? The white box? That's my Mikrotik router that gives me internet connectivity while away from home. It has WiFi too so other devices can use the connection. about an hour ago x
Vk5ZEA: The wide voltage input is good when running on a solar panel which can be as high as 20V in bright sunlight. about an hour ago x
AG6WK: Okay it's a router. cool. Haven't used solar much on a grander scale but I do understand why the dc-dc converter is used with the wide input voltage that can vary with the solar source. Thank you. 53 minutes ago x
N6HKH: Balloon launch info: www.mchsarc.com and www.papasys.com. 42 minutes ago x
wa6jfk: I am running a Lincoln arc welder from my USB CIGGY adapter! 37 minutes ago x
wa6jfk: A foil hat will sometimes help with RF 36 minutes ago x
