w6jfc: Mike - Tom W6JFC (Down sick) Update D9 is down - computer failure. D6 down with vandalism cutting an internet feed. Hope both this weekend. Also OC Luncheon Saturday. Have a good net.
KB7SQI: Here's part of my ircddbgateway config file where aprs is concerned:
KB7SQI: aprsEnabled=1
aprsHostname=rotate.aprs2.net
aprsPort=14580
KB7SQI: If you check your ircDDBGateway log file you should see something similar to these entries:
KB7SQI: I: 2016-03-23 23:33:20: APRS enabled: 1, host: rotate.aprs2.net:14580
KB7SQI: M: 2016-03-23 23:33:20: Starting the APRS Writer thread
KB7SQI: M: 2016-03-23 23:33:20: Starting the ircDDB Gateway thread
KB7SQI: M: 2016-03-23 23:33:21: Response from APRS server: # aprsc 2.0.14-g28c5a6a
KB7SQI: M: 2016-03-23 23:33:21: Connected to the APRS server
KB7SQI: Since it's been quite some time since I've been able to be part of the roundtable, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but this is one my new d-star/dmr toys. For traveling/spending hours driving in the car, it makes the time pass nicely!

KB7SQI: pe1msz.nl/
AG6WK: KI4IKM I checked my IRCDDB Gateway config and saved it and than verified the connection in the log during the connection process. Here is the info: Under D-PRS Host: rotate.aprs2.net Port: 14580 Log: APRS Server # aprsc 2.0.19-g05a4d35 connected.
AG6WK: Okay I didn't refresh and see that KB7SQI has similiar so I just confirmed what has already been verified.
ke6anm: branmeister? grandmeister?
ke6anm: what is the proper name I cant quite make it out.
AG6WK: KB7SQI the bluespot has been mentioned but I do not recall any station talking about their experience with it.
N3GLD: Brandmeister
KB7SQI: brandmeister.network/
KB7SQI: brandmeister.network/
KB7SQI: Proper link. :-)
ke6anm: thnx
KB7SQI: AG6WK: I know it was just released earlier this month. I've had mine 2 weeks now. I absolutely LOVE it! For some one who gets confused w/ ircddb/dstarrepeater, this is for them.
KB7SQI: AG6WK: It takes about 2 min max to get the BlueStack/DV-Mega setup w/ the BlueSpot software.
KB7SQI: AG6WK: The only downfall I can see is you can't "quick" key to connect/disconnect to different reflectors & you can't connect directly to a repeater either.
AG6WK: KB7SQI: Definitely worth discussing the pros and cons. But sounds like your quite happy with it!
KB7SQI: AG6WK: But it works great on both D-Star/DMR. The DV-Mega does need to have the firmware upgraded though.
KB7SQI: FYI for those who are interested in more XLX reflectors, North Carolina has a new XLX Reflector 054. It's been up for a few weeks now & has a full time DMR/D-Star Bridge on module C. That will probably mostly be intersted to people around Charlotte.
AG6WK: Micro Hams 2016 UDRX and UDRC Update: nwdigitalradio.com/a-short-udrx-and-udrc-update-from-microhams-2016/
AG6WK: HobbyPCB RS-UV3 Arduino compatable tri-band VHF/UHF 144/222/450 tranciever Radio Shield. Product Review in QST April 2016 (pages 49-51)
robertkc9usc: Talked to a Ham with a Micro-Node Nano-DV Digital Radio Hotspot transceiver that does D-Star-DCS-XRF-REF and DMR, P25 and C4FM-fusion? The picture shows a neat gizmo with a 3X5 Card monitor touch screen, look like a dynamite 4 Mode Toy? Any Review?
robertkc9usc: The guy said it worked plug and play right out of the box, but about $500 plus wifi and wireless keyboard add another $80 so $600 plus tax? Micro-node.com. I wonder if it would work with the Winbook 8"?
robertkc9usc: Happy Easter to all and I Love DSTAR!
N6HKH: Thanks, Barry, for taking over NC so I can tend to my recuperating wife. HAPPY EASTER (to everyone)!
