K6JQ: Anyone interested in a quick report about getting the CHIP $9 computer running headless DVAP?
N7WWL: Love the D-Star roundtable.
VE7LEE: I got RSD2 on your signal, could be my end. Mike
K7ADX: Roundtable Yeah!
K6JQ: haven't heard any R2D2 here
VE7LEE: I guess on my end
KI4IKM: Testing
K6JQ: I almost made the cliche quip about Canadian dollars vs US dollars, but caught myself :-)
K6JQ: Information on the CHIP $9 computer: getchip.com/ ; I built a headless version of a DVAP with a single CHIP; because there's no Debian package yet, I built from the DL5DI git.
K6JQ: Just using the standard CHIP OS; in my case, stripped-down headless, but I also tried running with GUI.
K6JQ: feel free to email questions to me k6jq@comcast.net
K6JQ: main hint building on CHIP: you need to add a 4 or 8 GB USB stick as a swap device just while building. Not needed for operation
VE3ELB: gigaparts have the dvmega boards in stock.

VE3ELB: please look at the last BlueSpot-MMDVMhost on the page. read the manual for how to update the dvmega for blue stack/blue spot Raspberry PI based Support for D-Star and DMR auto mode. dvmega.auria.nl/Downloads.html
KF4UCE: Wanted to add a local perspective to K1ZIL problem.
KF4UCE: IF he is using the Federal Way ARC repeater, they are very anti reflector on that particular repeater. He might have been yelled at by one of the guys that uses the repeater in local mode.
KF4UCE: That club has a Sunday night net that originates on the local repeater and is linked to REF 035C. I stopped checking in since there are guys that refuse to use CQCQCQ so I and others can hear their half of the conversation.
N6HKH: Nifty E-Z Guide to D-STAR Operation by Bernie N6FN. In 3rd Ed. with 4th allegedly being worked on.
N6HKH: The Nifty Mini-Manual, spiral bound and laminated, sold for each D-STAR radio.
VK5ZEA: Has this device been discussed yet?
VK5ZEA: www.sharkrf.com/
N6HKH: Michael: No, not yet.
robertkc9usc: I love D-Star and one of the most important reasons is that it is so operator oriented to the user on the go, try that with DMR, Fushion, P25, going to the airport local and finding connectivity ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD once you land anywhere, land, sea, air.
robertkc9usc: Look at this if you are looking at boxes, $500 plus, micro-node.com/index.shtml. I spoke to the creator he takes a DV4M and shields it and adds a nifty touch screen. Interesting. Midnight in Chicago Good night.
KF4UCE: Very much enjoy reading the newsletter from Brian's group. zl2vh.org.nz/d-star/newsletter/2016/
N6HKH: Thanks for the recommendation, Lou. On my list of reads.
KF4UCE: A video that shows a firmware update on a single board DVmega without needing to solder.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEt0vcQiMmc Not very hard to do.
