KA5AA: According to a post github.com/BrandMeister/hoseline/issues/7on the BrandMeister the Kenwood TH-D7 will soon support addition DV modes including DMR and later Fusion and P25.
G4KLX: I developed my D-Plus implementation from a mixture of DVAR and DVTool. At the time DVAR was the official third-party D-Plus program, and the last.....
G4KLX: I only ever got feedback from Robin when asking about one of his products. Apart from at Dayton, I have had no dialogue with him. DCS (and CCS) have official specifications, just not widely circulated.
G4KLX: I found Ken N1DOT's comments about me to be both hurtful and incorrect. To put the record straight:
G4KLX: 1. I will implement the new data mode once I know what it looks like bit-wise. There must be some way of knowing, once I do, I'll implement it. That is, I'll disable AMBE regeneration on those frames. I have never refused to do it.
G4KLX: 2. I have always asked for people to help out on my software. What is happening now is that people have indeed stepped up to the plate, I have not lost interest in it.
G4KLX: I had a chat with Ray Novak at Ham Radio in 2014 and he'd heard of me and my work, and was very friendly. He even asked me to have a private chat with him. I got the impression that D-Star direction was dictated by Japan not the US. This frustrated him.
G4KLX: The TH-D74 is being listed as a September delivery by one UK dealer, and another one says the end of August (!!). Neither has a delivery date for the new Icom handheld.
G4KLX: I have a theory about the new Icom handheld. They knew that the Kenwood was coming out, so they felt that they needed to announce something D-Star also. My theory is that apart from the different coloured sleeves, the new one is the same as the old OD-51..
G4KLX: but with quick tweak of the firmware, they could offer something "new". I reckon it might be the same hardware.
G4KLX:
K6KD: G4KLX: Several of us discussed later some of the comments made. It should have been mentioned that anyone who develops software and offers it without charge should be given respect and appreciation. You obviously have the right to work on whatever you
K6KD: want to work on and spend as much or as little time as you have available without having to apologize to anyone. There are many of us who appreciate what you have done and continue to do. Maybe without naming names this general topic should be discussed.
K7REX-Dan: My opinion: DRT is not the place to have "bitch" sessions; positive decisions about problems, issues, concerns and possible solutions sure, but keep it positive and productive... For the most part it is, but more effort is needed...
K7REX-Dan: This subject needs to be discussed, but I cannot directly participate tonight. I will be at our cabin tonight and will not have D-STAR ability (Satellite Internet issue) but will try to listen to the live streaming broadcast.
K6KD: My opinion nothing wrong if someone wants to complain about a manufacturer. They are getting our money; we don't have to be PC. Different situation with someone who is providing a product at no cost. Product shortcomings ok but not attacks.
G4KLX: K7REX@ I'm not in a position to respond on the round table (I'm asleep!) and I heard someone talking about me in the Podcast and I wanted to defend myself and put the record straight.
K7REX-Dan: G4KLX@ Completely understand... For tonight I can't participate directly myself and its one discussion I really need to be in. DRT is great period !!! Mike does a great job... That said, discussions need to be kept positive.
K7REX-Dan: I have brought this up before, but DRT needs to be held during a time that the MANY people like G4KLX can participate... The current time frame is leaving out a lot of talent we need to hear from....
KK6MYS: Just to put it out there. The Buster software source code is in github github.com/mcdermj/buster. Ready for someone to make it better.
K7REX-Dan: Has anyone heard anything about the ICOM HM-209 NOISE CANCELLING MICROPHONE I think this is a new product for the ID-5100A Radio...
KK6MYS: Mike we could for now do a special QSO with G4KLX so he could set the record straight. Arange and announce the time here so others can participate. Could post it up as a special podcast.
KK6MYS: K7REX I did not know they had noise cancelling headphones.
K7REX-Dan: NET TIME: I am not sure the solution, maybe an earlier time on Thursday to include the east coast and go from there...
K7REX-Dan: KK6MYS - Just do a Google search on Icom HM-209 Microphone... Lots of information, but I have not found any pricing or where to get one...
W6KD: New IP address for XRF720 is 23.237.16.149 Joey changed sites. AA0RX...plz advise SYSOPS at W0CDS and W0QEY if you could please

Guest: Mike we could for now do a special QSO with G4KLX so he could set the record straight. Arange and announce the time here so others can participate. Could post it up as a special podcast
K6KD: My opinion on the question with G4KLX - he already answered and suggest we just move on and not belabor the point
