K7REX-Dan: It appears that the new Plus2 features will only work with the G3 D-STAR repeater upgrades but otherwise works as a normal D-STAR radio. groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/DStar-Gateway/conversations/messages/12882
K7REX-Dan: Setting up IC-2820H cross-band repeat: Press and hold both left and right MAIN dials then the FUNCTION key together. After two beeps, the lock key will flash in the upper right of the display. Repeat for normal operations
K7REX-Dan: Taking Bob's (W6KD) advice I now have my IC-2820H radio in VHF/UHF cross-band repeat mode. I have it setup to communicate to a 10mw UHF DVAP on one side and the VHF side is setup as a 50w Hotspot for D-STAR radios. So far it has worked great...
K7REX-Dan: IC-2820H cross-band hotspot update:For whatever reason (??) D-STAR radios setup to use Dup Zero/offset (needed for older radios on simplex hotspots) will not work through the IC-2820H radio when used for a hotspot, normal DV simplex settings do work
K7REX-Dan: IC-2820H Cross-Band Hotspot update #2: For those needing to use Dup/Zero offset (needed for older radios) with the IC-2820H cross-band repeater hotspot there is a work around. Contact me by email for details if needed. dan.marler@gmail.com
wb5eku: New Kenwood radio of interest: comms.kenwood.com/special/nx_5000/common/pdf/nx_5000_brochure_2016.pdf
wb5eku: Dan, thanks for the 2820 tips! will give it a try.
N9KO: Has anyone found the website that lists analog crossband radios that can be used on D-Star as discussed in last week's Roundtable? That would be a solution for my local pedestrian mobile needs.
K7REX-Dan: I think I heard someone say last week that if the radio has a 9600 baud data port and can do cross-band repeat it is a good indication that it will work for the discussed D-STAR purpose.
G4KLX: Just added support for the 220 MHz DVAP (due next week) to the D-Star Repeater.
G4KLX: It's in GitHub. Time for a new release of DStar Commander, Maryland D-Star, etc?
kk6bdf: Might be wrong, but it seems that the link to XRF310A dropped
K6KD: Temp issue XRF310A ok
KE4EWB: HRO has a 220 DVAP listed www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-015432
W6KD: @ke4ewb--thanks...I looked there this morning and didn't see anything but the 2m and 440 versions...but yup, there it is now.
NX5800 buyer: Don, Did you find out prices ? These will work great with your v6.0 plus my mods
