I've been using a ThumbDV and ordered an ID-51a because they put up a local dstar repeater.
I think I know how to link to stuff like ref001c, but I'm scratching my head about xref, xlx and the others. Do i just input their name with a link character in position 8 or what?

In the URCALL field:
To link:
Col 1-3 Three letter prefix: REF, XRF, or DCS (XLX reflectors are not addressed as XLX by gateways. They can be addressed as any of the three listed prefixes depending on what is in the host file of your gateway or repeater.)
Col 4-6 The reflector number
Col 7 The module: A-E for REF for most XRF reflectors (Module E is often for echo - testing your audio),or A-Z for DCS reflectors (Exception: XLX reflectors can have up to 26 modules enabled, so could be XRF456Z for example)

To talk:

To unlink

On the header of the main page of this forum is a link to a pdf document Reflection on Reflectors ... on the W6KD forum. You will need to register and log in on that forum to download the document. A main purpose of that forum is to support a popular Raspberry Pi image, D-STAR Commander, which can be used with DVAPs and other similar devices.
Hope that helps.
