1. Scope - options:
a. General open mic - any topic
b. Broad scope - e.g. anything in the areas of shooting, personal protection, law enforcement, traffic laws, radar/LIDAR
c. Limited scope - e.g. 1 or possibly 2 topics within the broad scope list
2. When?
a. Night when no other nets are on Constellation - i.e. Sunday, Friday
b. Following another net that starts early (Two early nets are Powersports Tuesday and Truckers, Travelers, and RVers Wednesday - both at 1900 US Central time)
Would 2 nets on the same night be mutually beneficial, or would net fatigue set in?
3. Net control
Obviously people volunteering would probably want to know the scope and time - but options include a single person volunteering or a group being willing to share net control duties.
4. Start as a net or a single event that might morph into a net
Single event advantage - might gain interest before launching a net. Disadvantage - If a net takes time to build up a following, then a single event could be self-defeating.

Are there some basic guidelines in regards to the type of acceptable topics??
I am a regenerate Christian and a biblical theology student...I've hosted Christian-based podcasts before and like the idea of a theology-based net. However, you'd have to tell me if that is too narrow of a focus and/or if the discussions would be too pointed for an amateur radio net.

I think it would be helpful if you could be more specific as to your potential plans for such a net - specifically the kinds of topics and the manner in which the net would be conducted. The listeners on Module A are fairly diverse, so one possible approach would be to have this on another module, at least at first as a trial.

An idea just came to me. How about an electronics based net. Topics could include any and all electronics related topics including test equipment, device repair, learning electronics, fundamental circuits, formulas, kits, adruino, etc. Anything from replacing a cracked display on your smartphone to building kits like the bitx40.

I personally am glad to hear, that you like to try this out. And it wont be a problem, if it had to be moved to another module. There are many hours that goes on these reflectors with silence, that it would be a breath of fresh air to talk about what really matters. Our Salvation.
