ke0lmx: Regarding last weeks excellent discussion regarding a rumor of adding code back to the Amateur Extra requirements, I created a thread: d-star-roundtable.boards.net/thread/394/fcc-exams-easy
ZL2TWS: DSTAR-ONE telemetry using UZ7HO "hs_soundmodem" (http://uz7.ho.ua/modem_beta/other-versions.zip) to DK3WN AGW-Online-KISS (www.dk3wn.info/files/agw_online_kiss.zip) to display in DK3WN DSTAR1 decoder(www.dk3wn.info/files/dstar_one.zip)
ZL2TWS: Using FT-817 in PKT mode. 9k6 Pin-4 of PS2 DATA socket to laptop sound card mic input. 2dBi whip antenna, low loss coax and mast head 15dB 1dB NF pre-amp. Gpredict and Hamlib radio driver to track for Doppler. Gpredict runs in Win 64bit or Ubuntu 18 64bit.
ZL2TWS: DSTAR-ONE (DSTAR1) beacon transmits every minute for ~1 second in 4k8 GMSK Mobitex format on 435.700 MHz. More info here: www.d-star.one/ Those reporting on AMSAT web site here: www.amsat.org/status/index.php
ZL2TWS: Please give a donation to Andy UZ7HO and Mike DK3WN suggested at EURO 10 if you use the software. That helps these guys along the way and encourages them to keep producing great software for all hams to enjoy. 73 and good DV. John ZL2TWS.
ZL2TWS: DSTAR-ONE DK3WN telemetry decoded can be seen here: www.dk3wn.info/p/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/dstar-one_dk3wn_10012019_1115.png
ZL2TWS: For regular postings of DSTAR1 and other satellites check this page: www.dk3wn.info/p/
KI7BZ: no, we need new and more hams in the hobby! times change!

k6jm: Just posted a comment on the topic d-star-roundtable.boards.net/thread/394/fcc-exams-easy. New, higher level license would be nice, but let's also work to bring in new hams.
N4DLW: AOR AR-DV10 wideband communications receiver covers 100 kHz to 1300 MHz (less cellular) in traditional analog modes (SSB, CW, AM, SAM, FM) as well as various digital modes including: APCO P-25 (Phase 1), D-CR, DMR (Tier I & II), Mototrbo, dPMR, NXDN™, lis
k6jm: Elmering - old topic, but still important. Yesterday I helped a ham who'd gotten a D-Star radio a year ago but had not yet had a QSO. Helped him get registered, helped him program his radio, use the local repeater, then got him to link it to reflectors.
N4DLW: list $1200, saw for $939 on Universal radio, Yaesu selling it for AOR or something like that. Icom has one too but don't think it has Fusion. I thought the Uniden SDR scanner was alreay out? sorry for 2 shouts maybe too long? or can't edid a paste?
N4DLW: Ref Elmering I know a Ham was reg twice, has a D74 can unlink a Ref, can use Echo but can't link??
