G4KLX: Sorry I didn't vote. I was late to the podcast and the shoutbox this week. I would love to see it move to a time whereby I could participate, maybe you'd get Guus and Luc coming on board too.
G4KLX: ..... or how about two nets. Thursday nights as-is, and Saturday for real hardcore technical talk, no D-Star 101 or such stuff, and with an international scope?
G4KLX: Re: San-Diego, all ircDDB Gateways have D-Extra support, it did from the very first version in 2010. The only limitation is that the modules may be limited from A-E like D-Plus. It was DCS in 2011 that first opened the door to higher letters.
N6HKH: TO G4KLX: All understood and under consideration.
N6HKH: SHOULD THE NET ENCOUNTER DIFFICULTIES TONIGHT ON REF012A OR IF THE REFLECTOR GOES DOWN, EVERYONE SHOULD MOVE TO XRF002A, XRF310A OR XRF555A (LINKED TOGETHER) WHERE THE ROUND TABLE WILL CONTINUE.
KK6MYS: broadcastify feed is down
wa6jfk: Going to fix that WA6JFK
KJ0SHL: It doesn't look like you are coming through REF-12A
N3GLD: Very interesting device for the international traveler for data; could be good for some domestic needs as well. I don't have one but it is interesting. Good to know about anyway. www.skyroam.com/index.php
wa6jfk: Just removed into Mac at work.....Broadcastify should be ok now.
KJ0SHL: You are no longer coming through D4
wa6jfk: Remote in, no removed
wa6jfk: D4 back online
wa6jfk: Great news on W6MAT
K6JM: I like the idea of keeping the current RT on Thursday night CA time, and adding a more technical net on Saturday at a time Europeans could more easily participate.
W6KD: g4klx--Jonathan, very interested in forming some sort of organized discussion for advanced DStar users and/or developers on Saturdays...plz e-mail me...w6kd at yahoo.com
w6jfc: All Papa repeater are linked.
KF4UCE: N3GLD: You could also get a phone with T-Mobile. They have free data roaming/texting in 140+ countries with a Simple Choice plan. I get very fast data in Canada along with decent 3G in the UK(2-3Mbps)which can be used with my included 14GB hotspot plan.
KF4UCE: K6JM: Two roundtables would work for me if Mike would be up for be the Net Control op for both. Excited about the move to XREF.
KK6MYS: broadcastify down again
ko0m: How long does it take for your call sign to show on jfindu as yours does not show either
N6HKH: Good question. I'll ask on net in a few unless somebody answers here.
W6EDS: You have always been loud and clear on Papa 3
K6JM: W6CX Repeater/Gateway in NorCal is linked to REF012A and the audio is clear with absolutely no problems this evening
N6HKH: Thanks, Jim.
N6HKH: Broadcastify feed problem being worked on. Several issues have arisen and are being fixed as quickly as possible.
ko0m: ok...if your inside should I not get your LAST location from the site if the site keeps track of peoples location or last location and ve7lee does not show up
K6JM: Make sure you don't have your D-Star radio send out periodic GPS reports automatically when on a repeater. The GPS Auto TX feature is designed for simplex QSOs only. Periodic position beacons key up all repeaters linked to the same reflector. Not nice.
ko0m: www.jfindu.net/PrefixLookup.aspx I go here and look up call signs and it says invalid call sign...I must be doing something wrong
robertkc9usc: My Repeater NS9RC does do) XRF as well as DPlus. Command to get to the net next week would be: "XRF002AO"?
W6KD: @kc9usc--if "O" is the command your rptr uses for linking, then yes
robertkc9usc: I'm Sold on XRF Reflectors but where do I get Nuts and Bolts info on using it and commanding it from a Dplus/XRF Repeater?
W6KD: I have a tutorial on my support website for DStar Commander: w6kd.boards.net/attachment/download/8 It'll be getting some updates before long to address the new generation XRFs
N6HKH: Is Broadcastify back up?
K6JM: Sorry I timed out. Gist of last part of my comments: While our DPlus Dashboard on W6CX Gateway in NorCal works well, many don't. Problem is architecture -- each gateway computer creates its own DPlus Dashboard. XRF Gateways are centralized & just work.
K6JM: So I applaud the PAPA Systems use of the new DExtra reflectors and the Round Table moving to XRF002. Progress!
W6KD: Actually, each XRF has its own individualized dashboard...we provide some templates with the software downloads (that work), but many are customized by their sponsors
K6JM: Michael's comment about what software will PAPA repeaters use to link to XRF002 -- Don't know, but up in NorCal, W6CX has both DPlus and ircDDBGateway (integrated with help from VK4TUX). Next week I'll have ircDDBGateway link W6CX to XRF002 for the RT
guest: roundtable still on? Broadcastify died
N6HKH: Its up and running per reports from users.
W6KD: @guest--yes, RT still going...having problems with the feed tonight.
guest: Thanks for replies
VA6KRK: Great net tonight but I would like to unlink, Can you give a slight break so I don't double. Thanks have a good night.
AG6WK: Has anyone heard or have a best guess the number of channels the new Kenwood Dstar Tri-band will have?
W6KD: AG6WK...heck, they haven't even given us a model number yet!
AG6WK: haha I want it now!!!
AG6WK: I was hoping 1000 channels so I could store all XREF (okay not 26 modules maybe) and REF A-D along with local repeaters. I guess time will tell.
W6KD: With a keypad, you don't need all that...you can QSY ad-hoc with DTMF commands. I'll never give up my IC-92s for that reason.
AG6WK: Okay good to know. They had a 92AD for one of the raffles at the picnic that I would have been happy with. I like the 51A and see your point about the keypad of the 92AD and it has better audio than the 51A.
wa6jfk: The radio at the raffle was a 91AD, not so good, only has 2 power settings, HOT and HOTTER
W6KD: I have high hopes for the new Kenwood brick seeing that beautimus keypad up front
AG6WK: True. So the channel capacity isnt so important. I have a kenwood D72A and D710 mobile. I have been happy with both. Should be good. Thanks.
AG6WK: Okay see how much I know about the first generation 92AD and 91AD...
AG6WK: 73 All!
N6HKH: Thanks to all participants and silent supporters. Onward and forward to the X-Reflectors!
