(Decided I would start a new thread to avoid confusion with the Zumspot USB thread, this one is focused on the Zumsport Pi board.)HRO is showing some stock for Zumspot Raspberry Pi Kits which includes the Zumspot RasPi board and a Raspberry Pi Zero. I called to ask regarding the Pi Zero to see if it was the new WH version with header and was told it does come with a header, but is NOT installed (soldering required). An earlier e-mail from HRO stated it was plug and play, so I would verify what you are getting before ordering. www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-015993There is also a little teaser at the bottom of the spec sheet: 144 MHz, 220MHz and 900MHz versions to be released at a later date
The stand alone ZUMspot Pi board was not in stock, but I was told there are many backordered. www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-015994

Just had a ham friend receive one of the kits and confirmed that the header is NOT installed and requires soldering. I ordered a Pi Zero WH separately and will buy the ZUMspot Pi boards when they become available.

Sharing a couple of photos of the ZUMspot I put together. Tried waiting for the ZUMspot board itself to be available from HRO, but could not seem to find any in stock. I decided to buy the kit even though it came with the Pi Zero board without the header attached. I purchased a Pi Zero with the header separately and simply put them together and installed Pi Star. Up and running very quickly. Case provided by another ham with a 3D printer. Many case designs out there available for printing. I consider the display a nice to have, but not really necessary. Very little informations is displayed and the text is very small. Not something you want to be looking at inside your vehicle while driving.
