N9KO: Interesting talk about emcomm activity.
K6KD: Paper describing XLX, XRF, and use of DMRGateway in Current Discussions. Forum software does not allow downloads without logging in. No account? Easy - just use Register link top right, and please use call sign as your forum name.
N6HKH: Tokyo Hamfest review, including new products, from FB News, downloadable here: www.fbnews.jp/201709/news04/news_en.pdf
k6jm: Tokyo Hamfest link mentions a new ICOM HT ID-31APlus. Looking at a Google translation about this new radio, I see: "Access point mode & Terminal mode compatible". So this new radio joins the 51APlus2 and the mobile 4100 in supporting these features.
k6jm: Keep in mind the Access Point and Terminal modes currently only support Callsign Routing connections, and do not support linking, even to REF reflectors. Buyers of the new radios who hope the new features will support linking should be aware.
quadnet2: There's still a place for the IC4100 for routing. For example you can build routes to reflectors using a starnet routing server.
kc9sio: I have been considering the ID-1400 for my birthday.
K6KD: Display name can be changed. Profile at top, then Edit Profile button on right, then Personal tab. Only changes display name, not login. Can also use to make call sign upper case.
k6fed: Flashing the DVMega UHF with the latest firmware using an Arduino Uno and a Raspberry Pi www.marrold.co.uk/2017/09/flashing-dvmega-uhf-with-latest.html
k6jm: Thanks, Frank K6FED for the suggestion to get the Fing mobile app to discover my Pi's IP while it is connected to my smartphone's wifi AP. I downloaded it and it is excellent for this. Thanks!
